    Impacts of Using Social Media on the Studies of University Students in Pakistan

    We as human beings are known as social animals and it is considered that human beings cannot survive without social interactions. Social networking is a source of staying up-to-date about the global issues, changes and impacts. With the help of social media people are able to stay in contact with their relatives and friends who live across the borders or who are far away. Also with the passage of time and advancements internet has also brought the chance to socialize on different social media applications. These applications make a person able to stay connected with everyone 24/7, until an (paul, 2012)y mishap happens with networks. Basically, social media is a web-based tool which is a source of creation of information, ideas, interests, developing social linkages with people and many more. It is social media which provide us opportunity to communicate and get closer with each other. Furthermore, the social media applications are used by all age groups from youngsters to old aged. But as per study of Smith and Anderson (2018) the usage of social media was highest amongst younger population of the U.S. in the age group of 18 to 24 (Junco, 2011).
