NS3 High Computation Network Simulation Using Custom Helpers
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus., 2020-11-20) Fizza Ajmal; Sp16-bse-042; LHR TP 6272
Computer network technology is the subject which contains change and made improvement. New innovative ideas and concepts regarding the usage of networks and the Internet demand new network protocols and technologies with changing requirements. Due to its complexity, low performance issues and need for unwilling compatibility many challenges arise from understanding, gathering requirements, developing, implementing, testing and maintenance these technologies. This is how where network simulation comes into existence. Many problems can be solved by using network simulators such as NS3 through its implementation of TCP helpers. In a normal network scenario where nodes just work as receivers and transmitters, the network dependency is solely on the network speed, reliability and consistency. But there are cases where data to be transmitted might need processing after receiving or before transmitting. In such cases high computing nodes along with fast network speed becomes the foremost requirement. In a scenario where data receiving input rate exceeds network capacity and computation capability of the node, there are solutions available to either scale down the data or use network scalable solutions. Such solutions require using full network capacity and all node resources to solve the problem of high input rate data receiving and transmitting. It is a powerful tool which considered many different aspects of a computer related technology. The everlasting functionality of NS3 cannot reduce some limitations of network simulation regarding reliability, integrity, dependability, scalability, acceptability and high performance.
