Item Bank of Punjab(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2019) HAFIZA TANZILA SHOUKAT; FA14-BAF-023; SYED ATIF; LHR TP 6912The purpose of learning is to acquire practical knowledge and to be aware of the organizational environment. Internship is an important part of the BSAF program. The report was originally intended to provide the background of Bank of Punjab, which was establish in 1989 in pursuance of the Bank of Punjab Act 1989. It granted regular banking status in 1994. Punjab Bank is a scheduled commercial bank, where all major has 453 branches nationwide business center, headquartered in Lahore, Pakistan. The products include different deposit products. I also discussed the marketing strategies, competitive advantage and business process analysis of bank of Punjab. The need is to realize the banks growth potential and drive it in the right direction using the right strategy. The work done by me as general banking includes, cheque books issuance to customers, I learnt the bank’s standard procedures to be followed to issue the first cheque book, to issue the second cheque book, to issue cheque book if the requisition for the second cheque book is lost. I also learnt what is clearing of cheques. It included inward clearing and outward clearing. What is collection of cheques from within city and from out of the city; it includes inward bills for collection and outward bills for collection. After that, I learnt how to transfer the cheques from one account to another or from one branch to another. It included intercity transfers and internal transfers. Process of apply to ATM card and issue ATM card to customers. As I learned from this internship this experience is very precious to me in my future practical life through this I have known how to manage work and how to do work in working environment. I have given my observations about the bank. These observations included bank’s strengths as well as its weaknesses.
