(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2019) Fawad Masood; CIIT/FA17-RPH-017/LHR; Dr. Akbar Ali; LHR TP 5717
In the present research work, the AgNPs are synthesized by the chemical reduction method by using AgNO3 as a reducing agent and NaBH4 as stabilizing agent and reducing agent as well. The structural properties are investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy. XRD reveals the cubic structure and calculate the Crystallite size of the prepared sample. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is used to investigate the chemical bond vibrations of the different groups present in AgNPs. UV- Vis spectroscopy is carried out to observe the abortion spectrum of AgNPs. In case of UV-Vis, the absorption spectra show a sharp fall in absorbance spectrum near the band edge indicating that the material has a direct bandgap. The surface morphology is investigated by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Afterwards, synthesized AgNPs are used for the fabrication of cholesterol biosensor. For the fabrication of biosensor, we have used three electrode system. We have used glassy carbon electrode (GCE) as working electrode. Finally the electrochemical measurements have performed for the different concentration of cholesterol. We have obtained the linearity between the potential difference and concentration of cholesterol, which shows that our material is effective for the fabrication of cholesterol biosensor.
