Item On Algebraic and Combinatorial properties of the Poset(Library Information Services, COMSATS University, Lahore Campus, 2019) Husna Muzaffar,; FA17-RMT-023; Dr. Sarfarz Ahmad, Assistant ProfesorThis study explores the algebraic and combinatorial properties of partially ordered sets (posets), which play a central role in discrete mathematics and theoretical computer science. The research focuses on the structural characteristics of posets, including order relations, chains, antichains, and lattice formations. From an algebraic perspective, the work examines how posets give rise to algebraic structures such as lattices, incidence algebras, and Möbius functions, highlighting their applications in enumeration and inversion formulas. Combinatorially, the study investigates key invariants such as rank functions, order ideals, and linear extensions, providing insights into counting techniques and complexity. Special attention is given to well-known classes of posets, including distributive and graded posets, and their role in combinatorial optimization and representation theory. The results contribute to a deeper understanding of the interplay between algebraic operations and combinatorial configurations within posets, with potential applications in data organization, scheduling, and network theory.
