DIGITALIZATION OF GOVERNMENT SERVICES IN PAKISTAN
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) AMJAD ALI; FA17-BBA-169; Sadia Umar Ahmed; LHR TP 6741
Digitization is an extremely effective method of optimizing the output of governmental services. This is because of the faster response times of such a system; its capabilities with regards to handling big data; the predictive capacity that governmental systems have with regards to the needs of various constituencies; and the aid that it provides to the government in the distribution of different items under its welfare schemes; public services; etc. Pakistan has been cognizant of this fact for a considerable period of time now. This is represented in the fact that the Digitization process was commenced as early as the year 2000; as a result of the actions of Prof. Attar-ur-Rahman, FRS; who was then the Federal Minister of Science and Technology (Haider, 2015).
