Creeping Flow of a Non-Newtonian Fluid in a Uniformly Absorbing Slit with Porous Medium
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2021) Nosheen Fatima; CIIT/FA19-RMT-084/LHR; Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain Azim; LHR TP 7400
The problem of no slip effect on creeping flow of a couple stress fluid through a uniformly absorption porous medium was examined. The inverse method is being used to solve this problem. By using stream function, we get compatibility equation. The compatibility equation was changed that represents one problem into two sub problems F(y) and K(y) are resolved sequentially with their appropriate boundary conditions. Then the stream function was found by using Inverse method. And then we find the physical quantities that include stream function, velocity components, pressure difference, mean pressure, Volume flow rate, Mean volume flow rate, Fractional absorption Fa and leakage flux. Then we dimensionless these quantities and find the graphical results by using MATLAB software

Hydrodynamics Of The Flow Of A Newtonian Fluid Through A Linearly Absorbing Renal Tubule Filled With Porous Medium
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2020) Muhammad Sharjeel Anwar; FA18-RMT-038; LHR TP 6022; Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain Azim
The present study is motivated by the flow of fluid inside renal tubule in a kidney, which filters urine and reabsorbs fluid and useful substances into the body. When the tube is diseased, several substances block the pores on the surface of the tubule, and can also get suspended in the tubular cavity. Firstly, the medium inside the tubule acts as a porous medium and secondly, the reabsorption at wall surface does not remain constant. The detailed study of both these phenomena together is missing in literature. Therefore, we study the mathematical problem of creeping flow through a renal tubule slit taking into account both the disease effects assuming linear reabsorption rate at walls. We also compute fluid velocities and various other physically relevant quantities like pressure differences, leakage flux, fractional reabsorption etc, and to analyse the flow characteristics graphically.

Slip Effects on the Creeping Flow of a Couple Stress Fluid Through a Uniformly Porous Walled Channel
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2021) Muhammad Ishaq; CIIT/FA19-RMT-045/LHR; Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain Azim; LHR TP 7443
We evaluated the problem of slip effects on the creeping flow of couple stress fluid through uniformly porous walled channel. The problem is solved by an approach known as inverse method approach. First of all we converted the given equation into compatibility equation. We transformed the single problem into two sub-problems. We solved these two sub-problems one by one with their corresponding boundary conditions. The value of stream function is obtained with the help of inverse method. Then we calculated all physical quantities including axial pressure, volume flow rate, mean volume flow rate, pressure distribution, mean pressure, leakage flux and velocity components.

Two-Layer Flow of Immiscible Non-Newtonian Fluids between Parallel Plates
(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2018) Sheikh Zain Majid; CIIT/SP17-RMT-020/LHR; Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain Azim; LHR TP 5439
In this Thesis, we consider fluid flow through two parallel plates which is steady, laminar, incompressible, unidirectional and fully developed. The incompressible Oldroyd Six con- stant fluid is considered.Three flow problems including the Couette flow, Poiseuille flow and Couette-Poiseuille flow are modeled. The differntial equation for each problem is simplified with modified homotopy perturbation method, and thus result is obtained. The solutions are obtained up to second order of approximation for all three types of flows. The results are then presented graphically and the effects of various parameters on the flows are studied. We have observed that the non-Newtonian fluid parameters greatly affect the flow velocities in both the fluid layers.
