Item An Integrated Model of Workplace Ostracism, Positive Resources and Customer Service Sabotage: A Conservation of Resources Perspective(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2022) Ambreen Sarwar; SP15-PMS-005; Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Abdullah; LHR TP 7735With theoretical underpinnings in the Conservation of resources theory, the aim of this thesis was to shed light on the mechanism through which workplace ostracism results in service sabotage behavior in frontline employees working in the service sector of Pakistan, and the boundary conditions that might play a vital role in reducing the harmful effects of such behavior. Though it is a widely accepted truth that “Customer is the king” and must be given due importance by the service providers and be treated in a pleasantly congenial way. However, regrettably, customers are not provided with the warm, compassionate dealing that is widely accepted as the service rule. Customers are frequently ridiculed and shown rude and indecorous conduct from service providers which results in a negative service encounter. Such behaviors have the capacity to harmfully influence organizational outcomes and therefore needs to be studied and comprehended comprehensively for their effective control and management. This study proposed that such a behavior has its roots in the mistreatment that frontline employees come across in their day-to-day activities, by their peers at workplace. One kind of mistreatment i.e., workplace ostracism which though, is covert in nature, has the potential to inflict more harm on employees than by overt forms of mistreatment. In accordance with the tenets of conservation of resources theory, it was hypothesized that ostracism threatens important resources and induces stress in service personnel. In order to protect themselves from further resource loss and mitigate the harmful effects of stress, employees engage in deviant behaviors towards their customers during service interactions resulting in service sabotage. In such a case, the personal and job resources (i.e., self-efficacy and perceived organizational support) that an employee possess, serves as mitigating agents and reduces the negative effect of mistreatment. To test the hypotheses, quantitative survey approach was adopted under the positivistic paradigm, and data was collected from 743 frontline employees working x in the service sector of Pakistan. Time-lagged data was collected to reduce common method bias. Convenience sampling method was utilized since population size was not known. The respondents belonged to banking, academic, health, hospitality and telecom industries. These industries were principally selected due to their contextual relevance with the study aims and the prevailing stress, mistreatment and sabotage behavior. SPSS was used to analyze the data. Hierarchal Regression and Process Macro techniques were utilized for hypotheses testing. All the relations including mediation of stress and the first, second and dual stage moderation of self-efficacy and perceived organizational support were found to be significant. However, the moderating effect of perceived organizational support at direct stage emerged to be non-significant. The findings conclusively supported the claims of mediation and moderation in the service sabotage engagement by an ostracized employee. Organizations must take account of the stress-mitigating impact of self efficacy and perceived organizational support which is principally strong for producing acceptable service encounters. Managers might not be able to prevent all exclusionary or hostile actions, but this study proposes that proactively producing the values that nurtures care, respect, self-belief and support can assist the personnel in handling stress. Because mistreatment and impolite behaviors cannot be evaded and prevented entirely in the social context of the contemporary workplace, therefore personal and job resources should be utilized by management to lessen the negative effect of mistreatment. Future research might take directions from the limitations of the study and grab the opportunity to extend the research by studying and comparing similar theoretical models in different contexts.Item Brand Equity’s Impact on Consumer Willingness to Pay Premium Price: An extension to Theory of Planned Behavior(Library Information Services, CUI Lahore, 2016) Arif Ayesha; CIIT/SP14-MBO-001/LHR; Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Abdullah; LHR TP 4362The research is undertaken to investigate the impact of brand equity on consumer willingness to pay premium price by using an extended model of theory of planned behavior where the role of consumer attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral controls in shaping consumer intension towards paying premium price for a brand is explored and this theory is further extended to demonstrate the role of brand equity towards consumer intension to pay premium price. Moreover this research is specifically conducted in reference to Pakistan’s middle class behavior towards apparel brands and undergoes to deeply investigate middle class consumer behavior towards paying premium price for the brand. The study was carried put particularly in two cities of Punjab (Lahore and Gujranwala). Quantitative research design has been used. Data consists of a sample of 237 respondents taken by convenience sampling technique. The data was analyzed statistically by conducting regression analysis with SPSS. The findings indicate that there is significant impact of brand equity, attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral controls on consumer intension to pay premium price for the brand. The research findings depict that despite limited resources of income middle class is willing to pay premium price for a brand if the strong brand equity is established and efforts are made to make positives customer’s attitude subjective norms and perceived behavioral controls towards brand, because ultimately middle class is willing to pay premium price for the brand if it helps to boost their social status.Item Impact of Blog Service Innovation on Blog Reader’s E-Loyalty under Mediation of Online Relationship Quality(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2022) Muhammad Waqas Sadiq; FA14-PMS-007; Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Abdullah; LHR TP 7537The aim of this thesis to shed light on the impact of five dimensions of Blog service innovation (Yang, 2014), which are mediated through three dimensions of online relationship quality (Brun, Rajaobelina, & Ricard, 2014). This whole concept is supported by the commitment, trust theory of relationship marketing (Morgan & Hunt, 1994a) and expectancy disconfirmation theory (Collier & Bienstock, 2006). The need for such kind of study arises due to the ever-changing scenario of business and marketing. Every day, many businesses launch their websites intending to earn huge profits and attract new and existing customers, some of them successfully achieved this target, and some are not so lucky (Darta, Daulay, & Abdillah, 2020). That’s why many of the websites have to shutdown due to lower profits and increased operational costs (Nili, Barros, Johnstone, & Tate, 2020; Pertet & Narasimhan, 2005). Among these websites orkut.com, Asani.com.pk, Poocho.com and Pforplan.com are one of the few examples. For this research study, the data was collected using a probability simple random sampling technique with the help of a self-administered, structured questionnaire from a sample of 500 students, which could belong from intermediate to Ph.D. level in different educational institutes of Pakistan. Of these 500 questionnaires, 270 responses were received (54 percent response rate), among which 19 questionnaires were with incomplete information, so the analysis was done with 251 (Bentler & Chou, 1987) complete responses. SPSS and AMOS 24 are used to conduct the necessary analysis and analyze the model through SEM, which is administered through bootstrapping methodology. Before that, Pooled CFA was conducted to check the accurateness of the measurement model. The findings suggest that all innovations do not necessarily create loyalty among target viewers through relationship quality factors. There is only one type of innovation that is good enough to build all three types of relationship factors with its target viewers to create online loyalty, and this innovation is service privacy related innovation. While the webpage content related innovation is not recommended by the author to inculcate in website services of different organizations.Item Investigating the Role of Leadership and Behavioral Intergration : An Ambidextrous Perspective of Project Teams(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2022) Qurratulain; FA15-PMS-008; Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Abdullah; LHR TP 8322This study intends to examine the impact of transactional and transformational leadership on team members' ambidexterity, which involves mediation of team behavioral integration and moderation of environmental dynamism. The population of this study was software projects in Pakistan. Simple random sampling technique was applied to choose the software houses at the first level. After the extraction of the target software houses from the list, a convenience sampling technique was used on the second level to collect the respondents' data from project team members. After the data collection, specific statistical analysis techniques were applied to investigate the direct, mediated and moderated relationship between the variables of interest. The results drawn from this study are expected to increase the understanding of aspects of project team members' ambidexterity in software industry and to clarify the role of behavioral integration and environmental dynamism with predictors, i.e., transformational leadership and transactional leadership, and ambidextrous leadership. We expect this study will benefit the project teams in software industry who are in search of continuous improvements and up-gradation and require high levels of team integration with the risks involved in the industry because the role of a leader is crucial when setting up goals for their members. This study also elaborated the role of a project manager as a leader and its impact on team members' ambidexterity. The findings indicated that transformational and transactional leadership plays a role in improving the team member’s ambidexterity. Furthermore, ambidextrous leadership has greater impact on innovation; hence improve the team member’s ambidexterity.Item The effect of CSR on employees in the financial sector(Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, 2022) SHANZA AMIR; FA21-RBA-015; LHR TP 8121; Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim AbdullahWe propose that affective organizational commitment (AOC) and perceived organizational support (POS) play extremely valuable intermediary roles in the relationship among organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) of employees and corporate social responsibility (CSR) integrated toward workforce, with the cultural trade hypothesis as main focus. Using time-lag information, the theoretical hypothesis was evaluated. In addition, the information on the workers' organizational citizenship activities was obtained by their managers or supervisors. The findings showed a positive and strong relationship between CSR aimed at OCBs and employees, along with an intervention influence on recognized organizational support and subjective organizational commitment, between the CSR directed at firms. We put a significant emphasis on CSR activities organized by employees, and our results suggest that these CSR activities are important for improving fair representative performance outcomeItem The Effect of Drivers on Adoption of Green Innovation Practices in Supply Chain Management(Library Information Servies, CUI Lahore, 2017) Neelum Javaid; CIIT/FA15-RMS-005/LHR; Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Abdullah; LHR TP 4775In present time, the industrial sector is facing the challenges related to environment.
