Abstract:
Job insecurity is the absence of employment security brought on by a temporary rather
than a long-term contract. Since they may not know if their contract will be extended and may
not have access to the same benefits and protections as permanent employees, employees who
experience job insecurity may feel worried and apprehensive. In addition, they may be more
vulnerable to unanticipated layoffs or job loss if their contract is not renewed or is canceled
early. The financial stability, job satisfaction, and mental health of employees may all be
negatively impacted by job insecurity. Additionally, it may limit an employee's chances for
growth and make creating long-term planning more challenging. Stress, anxiety, and depression-
related mental health conditions are exacerbated by job insecurity in employees, (Witte, 2005;
Shoss, 2017).
