Abstract:
In chapter 1, the introduction about survey sampling, survey errors and use of
supportive information in estimation has been deliberated. Further in chapter 1, the
issues of non-response and different techniques dealing with non-response have been
mentioned however Hansen and Hurwitz’s (1946) sub-sampling has been considered
in more detail.
In chapter 2, literature about some existing estimators for single-phase samplings has
been provided. Various works of non-response have also been specified in chapter 2.
In chapter 3, an estimator for mean estimation by Hansen and Hurwitz’s (1946) has
been discussed.
In chapter 4, we propose a generalized class of estimator utilizing two supportive
variables to assess the mean of the population by Stratified two phase sampling
expecting occurrence of non-response. The properties of the proposed class of
estimators have been discussed in chapter 4.
In chapter 5, conclusion has been drawn about the proposed generalized class of
estimators, finally, it is shown that the proposed estimators are more efficient as
compare to the existing estimators of literature.
