One of the effected settlements was Sokar located on the south bank of Sanghar stream, near Taunsa city in Dera Ghazi Khan District, South Punjab. The two main reasons for its flooding were torrential rains causing flash floods on the Sanghar stream. The southwestern edge of Sokar was chosen as the study area because it was the first and the most impacted part of the settlement.
