Very aware of their minority status within an Islamic state, many Christians overlook the customs and social institutions that they share in common with Muslims of the same ethnic background. There are two ways of looking at the minority – majority relationship in Pakistan. The majority would like to assimilate minorities on its own terms, whereas the minorities would like to preserve their culture, religious and ethnic identities. Religious differentiation is one of the most serious problems for human rights of minorities in Pakistan. Minorities face the problems of unequal resources along with extreme marginalization in cities, and layer of fragmentation of their spaces in urban fabric. I’m trying to bridge all tangible and intangible layers and reduce the cultural diversity with the purpose of prejudice elimination and a better understanding of a community by its history and tradition.enDepartment of architectureFA16ArchitectureChristian CommunityCultural IdentityWaqar AzizCREATING PRESENCE FOR CHRISTIAN CUMMUNITYThesis
