There are too many out-of station students for the current on-campus student accommodation facility to accommodate their needs. In addition to significantly affecting students' academic performance, the lack of on-campus hostel facilities and the subpar living conditions in the ones that do exist have an adverse effect on their overall university experience and well-being. The objective of this initiative is to offer an innovative approach that improves the quality of life and helps students succeed academically. Its main goal is to create a student housing that fosters community building, social engagement and zone places in order to build a community that fosters better living and learning. The proposed facility includes a range of programs, including multipurpose space, mess hall, flexible bed accommodations (one bed, two bed, and three bed), tuck shop, printing Shop, warden office, sports facilities and service areas like laundry, kitchen and staff house. These spaces are carefully placed to facilitate various activities by maintaining the privacy and aura of space.enDepartment of ArchitectFA19social interactioncommunity buildingliving experienceimproved mental healthownershipprivacyMuhammad MansoorCOMMUNEX: A HOME AWAY FROM HOME DESIGNING A HOSTEL FOR COMSATS UNIVERSITY ISLAMABAD, LAHORE CAMPUSThesis
