Abstract
Lahore has become an industrial and commercial hub at present time. People from small
cities are moving towards Lahore for the sake of job in different industries. People are
willing live in near the industrial area. Because of this reason density increasing in
specific area. Basic infrastructure of city is not capable to cater that large number of
people. Lack of basic needs create complex chaotic situation in the city. Shelter or home
which provides a basic human need is an important part of any human life. But in
present context of Lahore, a large number of industrial workers spend their life in worst
condition due to lack of that basic need i.e. home. Home does not mean a place only for
shelter but also a place which fulfill the social, cultural, and environmental needs of
human. A place which could facilitate their actives, creating a bridge between his past
and present living styles. In present context, most of housing do not facilitate the
activities or habits but mold them with rigid planning. So, I want to create a space for
workers for sake of providing basic needs according to precedence of good living
standards and also create environment of equality about social and environmental
needs.
