The present study determined the link between personal growth initiative, resilience and
psychological wellbeing in young adults. A convenient sampling method used to collect data for
this quantitative study from 300 participants age ranging from 19 to 30 years (M =21.65, SD
=2.35). Demographic Questionnaire, Personal Growth Initiative Scale II, Resilience Assessment
Questionnaire (RAQ 8) and Ryff Psychological Wellbeing Scale (PWB 18) were used. The
correlation analysis demonstrated that personal growth initiative and resilience positively and
significantly correlated with psychological wellbeing. Hierarchical regression analysis showed
personal growth initiative and resilience positively predicted psychological wellbeing. All blocks
are showed to be significant. Independent sample t-test showed no significant differences between
male and female students for personal growth initiative and resilience. Therefore, difference of
moderate practical significance was shown for psychological wellbeing between male and female
students. These findings have important implications for clinical practice, education, research,
policy-making and public health. |
