dc.description.abstract This thesis focuses on designing the micro homes within repurposed shipping containers as a solution for affordable housing. The growing costs of real estate and construction in Pakistan has made it difficult for many individuals to have a home of their own specifically those with limited financial resources. By proposing housing model with the integration of transformable furniture elements to ensure space efficiency, flexibility and functionality. The research investigates the architectural and engineering principles of reshaping containers into live able spaces particularly through the user centric approach. The core element of this design is transformable furniture, which is multi-purpose, adjustable and adaptable. Transformable furniture shall alter the container into a modular space and enhance the living experience of its habitants within the compact space of the container. This thoughtful approach provides individuals and families the opportunity to be home owners of a space that is affordable and fulfils the basic needs of all its habitants. en_US
