CULTURAL REPRESENTATIVE HUB: EMBRACING PUNJAB’S DIVERSE CULTURE AND CRAFTSMANSHIP

Abstract

This thesis aims to explore Punjab, Pakistan’s diverse culture and bring together the diverse talent and artistic expression of vibrant culture of Punjab, Pakistan under one roof. A platform where individuals from all over the province can showcase their artistic expressions and promote it to new generations. This thesis design tries to bridge the gap between traditional and contemporary design, incorporating traditional construction techniques and locally soured materials will create a sense of simplicity in diversity. Where using cultural art and craft as interior elements will enhance the space which also adds vibrancy through colors. Eventually, the research will develop a sense of designing with traditional techniques with modern influence. Design strategy is based on creating connections and programs are outlined on connectivity of Punjab’s region.
