dc.description.abstract |
A class of mycotoxin known as aflatoxin (AF) is generated by various filamentous fungi and can contaminate food products meant for human consumption. These are toxic substances that have the same potential to infect living things as all other types of toxins. Specifically, these have been classified as group 1 secondary carcinogenic metabolites on the list of human carcinogens by the International Agency for Research on Cancer [1, 2]. AFs bind to proteins, RNA, and DNA to form AF-DNA adducts that break down viruses in humans over time [3]. Because of their immunotoxicity, AFs have been the subject of most research. |
