dc.description.abstract Highlighting the old building by adaptive reuse and sustain it according to current conditions of environment and time. Ownership of buildings is not the important than the demand of the present. We should need to consider the time. Thesis revolves around providing state of the art technology that celebrates the memory. The project “National Postal Museum” at G.P.O, Lahore situated on Mall Road, Lahore. The aim of this project is to provide the G.P.O building, with an updated use, that caters needs of the time. Just knowing the fact that building needs to revitalize by the demand of the present looking at the condition of older buildings in which it is losing its dedicated original use. My reaction towards this older building is to revitalize and make this building pass through the transition of post-modern architecture. For adaptive reuse, I propose a museum in which Hi-tech materials exposed interior elements and make this building an energetic look and function, that are self-sufficient which would be the reaction with the post-modernism. A place where postal heritage exhibits are there for the public with state-of-the-art facilities are available with postal exhibits, Philatelic exhibitions club, stamp calligraphy workshops, apparel exhibits, and spaces like major exhibits are there with eco-friendly materials and installations. Incorporating a new use in half of the building and managing the co-existence of the older and new program at the moment. The factor of memory that holds a time span it should be documented against the going time and current fabric. en_US
