Abstract

Lahore is virtually cajoled into various forms of prostitution so as to achieve a level of petit burgeoise comfort and apparently comfort is depicted through infrastructure and architecture of the city. Infrastructure is the physical demonstration of policy making procedure which happened to take place behind the thick concrete walls unaware of the fact that how this concretization of city will affect its associations with citizens and has turned city into embodiment of preposterous apathy. A gap has been formalized between a city and citizens, also among citizens and that gap is filled with apathy now. Citizens has stopped feeling for eachother, for enviroment and for city. The main aspect leads back to the first step and that is process of policy making lacks public involvement, human factor and transparency and these are the core aspects of democratic urban governance but due to lack of this bureaucratic apathy prevails in a city of Lahore.
