Abstract:
In this study, modification in the existing oil fired power plant is suggested to operate the plant on coal fuel. Coal which is highly heterogeneous in nature and various techniques for it characterization so as to accurately predict its behavior during conversion process such as available process combustion, gasification or liquefaction. For coal combustion the arrangement of the coal transportation to the site. Coal conveyer needed to be construct for coal firing in the boiler.

With all conversion efficiencies and plant performances. For conversion of oil to coal fired there is Pulverized coal boiler combustion suggested and optimized using GAMS. Pulverized coal boiler has better efficiency and is the most utilized boiler in power engineering. Pulverized coal is supplied in the jet of primary combustion air.
Proposed Flow sheet is optimized using GAMS (General Algebraic Modeling Solution).Our objective to increase the efficiency and Capacity of the Boiler. With the given GAMS software we got the results of the efficiency and capacity with the coal firing fuel. Coal firing fuel we required the extra space for coal storage and Ash which is made during combustion of coal in boiler. Flue gases treatment also be done for controlling the emissions of the flue gases and Bagfilter installed for the fly ash emission control after combustion from boiler.
The boiler capacity sensitivity analysis was performed by varying boi.er capacity. it was found that the efficiency and the cost will be optimal in the range of 1000 ton/hr to 1500 ton/hr boiler capacity. Below and above this range the efficiency decreased. Hence the optimal boiler capacity range is of 1000 ton/hr to 1500 ton/hr and maximum efficiency we got from our proposal
