Abstract:
Bernstein waves, which are feature of purely kinetic theory of plasmas, are electrostatic
modes propagating perpendicular to the magnetic field. Propagation of these waves are
studied for the Thomas Fermi electron- positron plasmas, also known as pair plasma. For
this purpose, dispersion relation of Bernstein waves for e-p pair plasma with and without
Bohm potential effect and exchange correlation affects has been derived. Later a
numerical analysis has been carried out for astrophysical plasma environment.
